My name is Dani Zafar and I have been the director of Café au Play since 2024. I have a background in elementary and early childhood education; in my previous career I was an elementary school teacher. I started attending the Café when my son, Zeke, was 8 months old and I needed a space to meet other moms. I fell in love with this place and want to see it continue to be a space for families to connect, engage with. and learn from one another.

My husband and I live in Durango with our son, two dogs, and a cat. Outside of work, I make time to enjoy our beautiful outdoors, travel, and read. Come say hi next time you are at the Café!

My name is Abbie Downing. I am a Certified Birth Doula, Lactation Counselor, and Childbirth Educator and owner of Animas Birth Doula, offering local services in our Durango community. My husband and I have three kids (6.11 & 13) and just love the close-knit community and beautiful mountain landscape of Durango. I found Café au Play when we moved here in 2018 and I started taking my then 10-month old daughter to baby group as a way of connecting with other moms...6 years later, I am the baby group host! I love meeting parents of new babies and offering support and connection as they traverse the first year of parenthood.

I'm Angie, I'm from Colombia, and I'm bilingual (English/Spanish). I have a wonderful family with my husband and our baby girl, Hannah. I'm passionate about digital marketing and social media. My favorite color is pink, and I love Italian food. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with family and friends, traveling, dancing, and cooking. I'm thrilled to be a part of Café au Play!

Hi, I'm Bekah Webb and I'm so excited to join the Café au Play team. I'm a mother of two elementary schoolers and a postpartum doula. My spouse is a professor at Fort Lewis College.

Our family moved here from NC in 2022 and we are happy to call Durango home. Look forward to getting to know you all!
